いつもお世話になってます。今日GMATのVerbalのSentence Correctionの問題を解いていたのですが、なぜ答えがそうなるのか納得がいかないので投稿しました。誰か分かる方は教えて下さい。

(B) to be one that is registered to an individual with a gross weight of less than 8,000 pounds.

(E) as having a gross weight less than 8,000 pounds and registered to an individual.

この問題においてAnsは(A)か(C)までは絞れるのですが、なぜ(C)が答えで(A)が駄目なのかが分かりません。

(A) which was determined by when the sun reached the observer's meridian and differing
(B) which was determined by when the sun reached the observer's meridian and which differed

この問題において(C)と(E)の違いがよく分かりません。(E)は(C)の関係代名詞の部分を省略しただけでどちらもOKな感じがします。この場合は短い(E)を選ぶべきという考え方なのでしょうか？それとも(C)は何か文法的におかしいのでしょうか？
