大変意義深い議論をして頂きありがとうございます。「名詞より動詞の方が好まれる」とかいう短絡的な議論はしたくないですから、、、（一部の研究不足の予備校が大好きな議論ですが、、、）

good results になるべきは portfolios なのではないでしょうか？

先程書店に行き、大きな英和辞典を調べたのですが、turn in には他動詞として、「達成する」= achieve の意味があります。そう考えると、"Asset allocators intended to turn in good results in both "bull" and "bear" markets." も文章として正しくなります。

> (c) の intended は portfolios にかかっていると思います。
often in the form of mutual funds は挿入句と考えて、元々の意味は

> Asset allocators create portfolios (which is) intended to turn in good results in both "bull" and "bear" markets.

> ではないでしょうか。

私は intended は being intended の省略で、分詞構文と考えました。したがって、意味上の主語は主節の主語と同じ Asset allocators です。

また、often in the form of mutual funds は挿入句ではなく、portfolios を修飾する形容詞句と考えました。intended が often in the form of mutual funds を飛び越えて portfolios を修飾するのはきつい（遠すぎる）と思いました。
