要は、transfer（口座間振替）をdeposit（預入）としてカウントされてしまった、ということでないでしょうか。

確かに6000という差額が出ているので引き付けられますが、１９８５年末の差額に関しては、少なくともthe society's treasurerなら説明できる立場にいると思われます。
