はじめて投稿します。ＯＧで分からない問題がありますので
どなたかご教授御願いします。
問題

of Teaching, companies in the US are providing job training and

equivalent to the enrollment of) the nation's four-year
colleges adn universities.

(E)as many as are enrolled in
つたない私の知識だとequivalent to はとりわけ、用法制限が厳しくなく
比べる対象が、くどいくらいはっきりしなくても活用が可能のように
思うのです。確かにＥは比べる主格が明確なため、良いのがわかりますが
どうしてＡではだめなのかが、はっきりとわかりません。
