sorry to bother your conversation, but
let me tell you something about the listening
section, of course something useful.

i think it's one of the best ways to
make ets meterials faster just as
gmat mania says.i'm sure this makes
it easier for you to listen to the
actual tests with more leeway.

in my case, i luckyly got 24 in the listenig section
for the first test,but hadn't been able to make any progress for a little while (about 3 months). however, after i had listened to the quickened tapes i made with
a sony's tape recorder, and my listening ability grew
much better, and eventually i got 26 in the listenig
section. finally, as a whole, i got 627 (263) on the toefl. then i concentrated on the GRE.

think working on the grammar and writing sections
is better to get better scores on the toefl as a
whole because most japanese people are suffering
more or less in the listening section, and it's
not easy to improve your listening ability
within a short period of time. writing and grammar
sections can be improved with less efforts than
the listenig sention, especially the grammar section.

writing can be improve a lot if you
just remember some 'useful' expressions that
are found in some toefl books. the one that i
used was the barrons's stuff called
"how to prepare for the toefl essay"(not sure about
the name of the book). it's just great.
it's got a lot of sample essays and useful expressions.

anyway, toefl is not so stressful just cuz
you can take it as many times as you want.
just take it easy, then i'm sure you will
get great scores sometime.
