下記の問題は、どのようにして解答にたどれるのでしょうか？

Caterpillars of all species produce an identical hormone called "juvenile hormone" that maintains feeding behavior.
Only when a chaterpillar has grown to the right size for pupation to take place does a special enzyme halt the production of juvenile hormone.
This enzyme can be synthesized and will, on being ingested by immature caterpillars, kill them by stopping them from feeding.

C)の「結果的に、たくさんの益虫を殺すから」というのが、正解ですが、
益虫を殺してしまうからと言う理由で、Not advisable というのは、「益虫存続＞害虫駆除」という暗黙のAssumptionが必要で、解説を読んでも、あまり理解できませんでした。
むしろ問題文から、害虫を殺すのが主目的と読み取れ（益虫について言及なし）、害虫はいなくなるのだから、益虫がどうなってもかまわないのではと思いました。
結果的に、ホルモンが有効な害虫は少ないので、大きな成果を得られなさそうなB)を選んでしまいました。
