現在TOEFLの勉強中ですが、Listeningの問題でどうしても納得できない問題があります。どのように解釈すべきなのか、どなたかお教え下さい。また、こういった問題を演習するにはどのような教材が良いのでしょうか？お教え頂ければ幸いです。
(Man) I want to take comparative anatomy this year. But according to the requirements, I have to have taken the introductory biology course first.
(Woman) Ask the professor if you can take them simultaneously. All he can do is say no.
(narrator) What does the woman suggest the man do?
（正解）Request permission to take the courses together.
女性は’それらを同時に履修できるか聞いてみたら。教授はだめだというだけよ。’と答えているので’聞くだけ無駄’と言っているような気がしてなりません。しかしながら、正解は’両方のコースが同時にとる許可をリクエストしてみたら。’となっています。
